Setting eggs on 8/7/12 !! Anyone else?

All eggs set should be counted for a number of reasons.

Could have been fertile, and died. If you crack those eggs and look at the yolk you will have more information. Most people call them infertile, but the term is unfortunately misleading. Infertility could be a cause but not the only cause.

When I did the Easter Hatch along, the best hatch rate was based on eggs set.

How many eggs do you have left? 14 set - 4 not fertile- 3 blood rings = 7 ?

One egg can be misleading; checking a couple eggs can be more helpful. Hope this helps.

Awww thanks.

I think I should have been a teacher! Being a mother to 2 boys is about the same I guess.

I'm sharing what I learned. I'm not an expert but I have hatched a few in the last year--and I ask questions, especially pointed at those who are very experienced.

Just finished candling my 7 remaining eggs and everything looks fine. The chicks are all active and the air cells look like day 14 cells. I have been running at 36 % humidity since day 7 and it seems to have helped in slowing down the air cell development. Day 7 air sacs were way too big.

I finished constructing the hatcher incubator today and have it running so that I have time to tweek it before lockdown.
