Setting eggs on April 14!

Back to incubating again after buying myself a brand new Hova Bator 1602n with the fan kit and an auto turner! Last try with the homemade incubator didn't go to well, 17 were infertile and 1 that died in lockdown Anyway now i have a full bator of 42 eggs that i set at 7:20 p.m. tonight. 18 are a barred rock x red production, another 18 are white Sussex x red production and 6 are mystery eggs that the wonderful lady threw in for me for free. she labeled all the eggs (breed/ laid on date) but not these ones! Guess i will have to wait and see! Can i be hatching buddies with anybody? Did anyone else set today/ will tomorrow? I set eggs on friday the 13th at 9pm....I did it more to freak the hubby out he is very supersticious, my last set was 13 eggs and he was having a fit......but I got 7 of the 13 to hatch.......good luck on your hatch. (this hatch is more of an experiment for me, the mixes that i set are ones that i could not get to hatch last time)

Day 6 and i have already candled about 8 times! Out of 42 only 3 are infertile and the rest are growing quite well with lots of tiny little spidery veins! This hatching thing it addicting lol

Hmmm, it seems like no one else it hatching with me so i guess i will just write stuff down like in a journal. Here i go....
Today was day 7 and i took the eggs out of the incubator and thoroughly candled and drew air cell lines on the outside. It was so cool to see the chicks "jumping up and down" inside their eggs! I think i am getting attached already, how will i handle it if they dont hatch?!?! lol Anyway, end results, 10 infertile and 4 blood rings 28 eggs left. Maybe the nice lady i got the eggs from will give me replacements for the infertile ones once i am done hatching these ones?
