Setting Eggs On March 7, anyone else??

Wow, blue-egg Silkie-X.... I would love to see pics of eggs (and chicks)!

I'm getting better every lovely pre-spring day, now that this winter's fibromyalgia flareup has subsided. I am *so* eager for these new chicks to hatch! Several of them will be the third generation of my blue-egg Silkie-X project, which this year is expanding to include porcelains, partridge, and buffs as well as the original splash. If I should get an extra Splash rooster, I'll choose the most typey one and start a BBS pen with him (since I bought several blue chicks recently).

Must stop now, before I run on for several pages. Hope your hatch is a great one. I'll keep looking for you in the thread! Go, chickies, go!

Hey Jenjeran, I bid on the olive eggs you got!

Mine are coming next week! I can't wait to see your chicks! It will be like a sneak peek of what is to come.

I'm setting 50+ tonight or tomorrow. Black silkies, bantam cochins in brown red, lemon blue, lemon blue frizzle, and 9 olive eggs from shipped eggs. My tuner is on overload, i have eggs double stacked.

He he... Chicken math has already came to me  I set 6 eggs on the 7th but my incubator looked empty... So I set another 12 eggs last night :D yay chicken math!! I am already good at it lol

I really like going out to gather eggs and seeing all the colors in the egg basket. People really do like when I give them eggs and getting different colors.

Here's a before they went in the incubator pic.

I too set 10 eggs on March 7th, at the other side of the world though! (Greece). First time. Homemade incubator. Worried about the procedure. Very much! Aaaaaaaargh!
Good luck to us all!

No matter how many times I hatch eggs, I'm always going over and checking on the eggs many times a day. This batch is going to be special because they are due to hatch on my birthday.

does anyone know when you are able to see through brown eggs and see the chick inside??

Usually day 6 to 8 is when you can really see the embryo inside. You can see some veining earlier and sometimes see the embryo if it is a paler egg. Really dark brown ones can be difficult to see very much through the entire process
