Setting Egg's on Oct 26th! Anybody else???

Here is an egg I just candled they are 3-4 days, a little blurry cause don't have a very steady hand.

You can just make out some veins and a little spot. This is with a 35 luminance energizer LED flash light 10 bucks at Target.

Belinda~~~ Also, I have learned, that not all eggs will show veins as early as the third or forth day...even though it's from the same clutch, or shipped order. I usually see veins on the third or fourth day, but have had to wait to see anything for 6 days being the earliest on others. Yep, best to wait it out..you will know for sure when they come along..and if you see a spot..that's a very good sign!
Also, the yolk usually stays around the middle once the egg gets going..I have had them float to the top, the once it started, stayed around the middle. So, you never know..6 or 7 days will tell the story. It's just the waiting..even after all the eggs I have hatched, it's the waiting that is so hard when you want to know if an egg is good or not.
Of course, if you see anything that looks wet, or a yellow sticky color on the outside of the egg, then get it out of that bator! I have had this happen as soon as the very next day after putting them in. This is my first year of having that happen. Had heard of weeping eggs, but now know what it looks like.
Good luck, sounds like you have some fertile eggs in there.

I candled yesterday all the eggs at day 6 or 7. I get confused, I think it is day 6 since the first day I put them in shouldn't count. I am very inexperienced at candling but I see something in all of them now, the clear one is looking good now. I see either veins and a dark spot or a possible blood ring in a few. I will candle again in a few days and make my discards.

I am a little worried as by bater got up to 102 degrees the other day and probably stayed there for a few hours. It got warm in the house and so the temp of the bater went up too. I am using a 10 gallon aquarium and only have insulation on the back wall and both sides. Front and top are just glass so I have to monitor the temp in the house too so I don't get a lot of movement on my temps. It normally ranges around 99-100 so I think that is good. It has gotten down to 96-97 on a cool night before too though.

Thank you so much for this post. I waited and candled yesterday and all the yolks are staying put now and the eggs are progressing. I just need to try to figure out if some of them have blood rings as apposed to veins but I should know that for sure hopefully when I candle again at about 10 days. So far no weepers!

Your eggs should be fine. My temperature swing from 93-103.5F on the last batch. All the good developed eggs hatched just fine. I don't even have all the eggs in at once because I don't want the eggs sit more than 7 days. I added my within 1 week spread.
As for candling the egg, at 10-15 days in the incubator process the egg getting really dark so I can tell the different between bad and good very easy.
