Great news! I candled my eggs today and it looks like 10 out of 15 eggs are starting to develop!
I am hatching silkie eggs! It's my favorite breed of chicken! They are such nice chickens... even the roosters are sweethearts!
I would LOVE to hatch duck eggs someday, but at the moment I don't have much room for them. Hopefully in the future!
I do a dry hatch during incubation. What humidity do you keep it at? I leave mine at about 40% until lockdown and then I raise it to about 80%. That method seems to work well with me. I used it for all of my hatches. It's just so much easier to keep the humidity at 40% than to stress 24/7 about it being higher than that.

oh well. The farm has a no return policy or any policy of any kind when it comes to fertile eggs. I think the next time I get eggs i might call someone else that has a dozen for $5.00 instead of 7 so i could get 2 dozen eggs for $10 (not $14.)
