Funny, I though this lock-down stress was just because I'm new to hatching. Yet, as I read through it seems like everyone feels this way. I haven't posted much but really happy to read the posts, thanks.

I've come to realize that no matter how many hatches you do the last three days are nerve racking. Constantly questioning yourself and everything you did during Days 1-18.

Helllllooooooo lovely people. Oh my word I'm going to have to spend HOURS catching up on all the hatching drama. Here's my update :
5/5 from my backyard bunch
6/12 from my Super blues (shipped bunch) but one little guy didn't make it so I have 5
Soooo I'm running at 50% - which is verrrrrrrrry frustrating
Ummmmmm with regards to that being my last hatch

Aaaaaaannnnnnndddddd

when we were running around last weekend looking for goats, a lovely lady gave me 2 serama eggs (fresh from the nesting box) and 2 olive eggers - ha ha ha and then I filled the bator with backyard bunch :)
Brook I will update dates tomorrow
Hope you're all well

50% is still good for shipped eggs. We are gonna be hatching Serama's together!!!! I have 31 Serama eggs in the bator now with 12 more on the way!!!
We're going to have to start a new thread for the latest eggs.

OMG- Exactly! I am sitting here thinking --what if, did I, should I have. . . And I can't go back and change anything. These are not my eggs and I really have no idea what to expect for a good hatch rate.
Plus this humidity issue makes me nuts.
I have only hatched in the incubator once before and this time my humidity was a little lower but steady for the past few weeks. I put a washcloth in tonight because someone here suggested it, last time I used a sponge. I got the turner out and I am waiting to see where the humidity gets to from what I just did.
Never sure what is right because there seems to be so many people who all swear to different ways of hatching.

So here's my update. Locked down on my Heritage RIR eggs tonight. I had 9 eggs make it to day 10 and 9 eggs went into lockdown. There are a few that still have wonky air cells but the chicks look good inside them.

Candled my Catdance silkies (Day 11) The one that I nail polished was a quitter. Looks like around day 5 or 6. So I have 16/24 left all with good air cells. These guys were moved to my new GQF incubator. I am really keeping my fingers crossed. Temp and humidity are good.

My first batch of Serama eggs are at day 5 and I couldn't resist candling to see if anything was happening. Out of 14 eggs set 3 are clear and there is veining in all the rest!!! These are shipped eggs too.

My second batch of Seramas (shipped also) have only been in for 3 days. I only candled 1 egg and saw veining!!!

I am so psyched right now.

Well I very pleased to learn I am not the only one going crazy on LOCKDOWN
