Setting eggs today 4/1/12 Anyone else?

well today is day 22 for me and there are only three eggs left in my bator. all are pipping and moving vigorously. their 22 brothers and sisters are all happily enjoying the brooder. 70 percent hatch rate. was hoping for better but i'll take it. now if i can convince my wife to let me incubate one more time!!! congrats to everyone on their new additions.

Congrats on the new babies everyone! And extra congrats to gwendalynn. It doesn't get any better than 100% hatch rate! They're adorable, are they BLRW?

Yep! Those fine babies are BLRW's! I'm so happy with this hatch! I hope the next one goes as well. Its much smaller though. 3 BLRW eggs, 2 EE eggs that are hopefully mixed with my bantam rooster, and one bantam egg of unknown breed (could be silver sebright, a golden sebright, or a creole!). Only six eggs but everything looks good so far! Now I have to keep my fingers crossed that most of the 12 that hatched out are hens!!

So Chip has at least 5-6 babies in there. Three are Plymouth Rocks. Two-three others are fluffy white with a grayish diamond on the head. Everybody looks well and they're too darn cute. I could sit in there all night and watch babies, but I have things to do. :sigh:

Well, so far one is out and about, and the one that pipped sometime yesterday didn't make it :( I'm not sure if it shrinkwrapped or what - we were away part of the weekend, and the temp in the house went way down (furnace acted up), and the bator says it went down to 92.

Still one is out, and we'll see what else might come out...and it was one of the Americana crosses that made it :)

This was my first ever hatch and I am very impressed with my sucess....set 12 eggs on the 2nd lost one about a week in...The rest went to the end.....first hatched at 730am April 22, and the last one hatched sometime after midnight.....Amazing.....need to get the bator cleaned and put away because I want to put some more eggs in it!!!

Total count from yesterday's hatching: 8. Chip had 10 eggs in there that had a good chance to hatch (not broken, etc) and we got 8 babies. Not to shabby at all. Four are going to be Barred Rocks'Plymouth Rocks. Four others are cream/white and have stars on the head. Not sure on those.

Dusty had one egg hatch on Sunday, which leads me to believe that egg was moved over from batch #1. Batch #2 is due to hatch tomorrow through Friday. We'll see what happens. Dusty is tending to her one baby very well and still sitting on her eggs too. I've put her food and water very close to them, just so momma doesn't have to move very far. Let's hope it works!

Just thought I would check in, my last three quit on me, so I'll be culling my rooster, on a brighter note one of my ducks is sitting on a huge nest of eggs
