Setting eggs today 4/1/12 Anyone else?

I just bought an led flashlight at Walmart for around $12.00. It is 26 lumens vs the 10-12 lumens of all the other flashlights. I have Marans eggs and blue and green eggs. Can see into them just fine.

Were they your own eggs? If they were, I think they should be fine. I collected on the 31st and put them in the incubator on the 1st. I think it is shipped eggs you are suppose to wait on.

I have been using a little giant 9200 still air and have had no luck! I have killed 18 eggs so far and could use a little help. I have a egg tuner for my modal but im a little confused about the humidity! I have been looking around but do not have a hygrometer but do have a Thermometer! There are trays in the bottom of the 9200 modal and i keep water in these trays. Do i need to run them dry or only in a few trays? I have 7 Blue Mottled japanese bantams i just bought and gonna try again. Any words of wisdom, I would be greatful for.

If you go to a pet store like petco or petsmart, the have the little flukers hydrometers(sorry spelling) for only a couple of bucks, I have one. it works great.

I am going to see if I can create a candler from a fishtank light. I will let you know how it turns out.

I set some random eggs tonight, 4-2-12 under a broody hen. I'm not sure what will come out of them, or if any of them are fertile. We'll see what happens.

I just set 15 eggs tonight! Some are pretty old and a few were washed. I am curious to see how well they hatch. Figured i had nothing to lose since I had to test the incubator out before I buy eggs, LOL.

We set 12 green eggs on 3/31. One of my green egg layers is an Easter Egger, the other one is an Ameraucana, although I'm not at all pleased enough with the color of her eggs to call any of the chicks that might hatch anything other than EE. We'll see how it goes, I'm not even finished with my first hatch and this will be a staggered hatch in a single incubator. Hopefully I haven't shot myself in the foot and at least one of these batches of eggs hatches.

Knowing your humidity and keeping it on the low side (no more than 30-50%) will probably help alot. During lockdown is when you want your humidity to be up in the 65% area, and stay in that area until after they hatch.

I added another 18 eggs today from a mixed flock of BCM and Lavendar Amerucana and Olive Eggers. Most of the eggs are the dark Marans. I cannot wait to see what hatches out of them, not knowing is going to drive me crazy the next few weeks! I am debating on whether or not to go into lockdown a day late for the first set, or a day early for the second set....

Awesome:) I am excited to have hatchling buddies and to see/hear about all the lovely babies when they come:)

The 22nd is hopefully a very exciting day, I have a litter of beagle puppies due that day as well as the chicks:)
