Setting eggs today, 6-30-12...anyone else want to join in the fun???

Go Smudgie! You can do it!!!
Smudgie says thanks!!! She has been preening a lot today, another great sign that she's feeling better. My daughter says it's because she's such a girly-girl! After all, she was named Smudgie do to her extra "eyeliner."

Have you taken any more photos? I'd love to see your hen with her babies!!!

Just checking in on everyone. My little silver spangled hamburg is so sweet. I feel so sad that she is all alone in the brooder. I do take her out a lot and s/he curls up by my neck, in my collar bone.

I did et the second set of hamburg eggs on Thursday evening. so in about 18 days I should have some more chicks.

I am so happy to hear that Smudgie is doing so well - keep eating!!!

Glad to hear your little one is doing well! Isn't it sweet the way they can cuddle up! She will probably develop into a very people friendly chicken.

OMG...I saw that picture of your Rosie and just had to share a picture of my Rosa. We were told she was n EE, but she has the body of an Orpington, but with a pea comb and lays a brown egg. I think she has more Orpington than EE for sure. Here she is with her latest baby, a Red Shouldered Yokohama chick. She had another clutch earlier this spring, she hatched 3 little mutts then, so this is her second go around since April with babies. The other little RSY she had did not make it, so she is raising this one as a singlet. She is the sweetest chick and is probably my favorite of my whole flock. She loves to be on my lap or shoulder and lets me hold that baby whenever....unlike my other broodies who keep their babies to themselves. Sorry for the picture quality, I took it with my cell in poor light. She normally shows up quite blue, with a darker head and neck.

Wow! So we have a Rosie and Rosa that look very much alike and 2 sets of Thelma and Louise in this group? That's cool!
