Setting eggs today (7/20), anyone else?

I have an egg that appears to be leaking. It gets some whitesh sticky dots on it. I've wiped them off and they reform. I can't see any hairline cracks and I haven't tried to candle as they are BCM. I thought it had a slight odor. what should I do Rest of them are ok>

my daughter and I candled last night ( just had to

) out of 9 the 4 white ones have red veins in them not sure on the other 5 they are brown and harder for me to tell..I guess I will wait a few more days on them.. we are so happy and cant wait for the 21 days to be done!

Yeah those brown eggs can be tough. Congrats on your other eggs though. I have the worst time with the green until they are like 14 days along. Then it becomes apparent that there is nothing in there.

so i was just going to candle the ones that i couldnt tell with last time.... one where i couldnt tell, i still cant tell. one has a dark shadow in it so i m not sure, but the other definitly has a detached air sack and i dont see anything else in it, still clear. then one had an eye and was moving all over, i called over the kids, they were all excited, then i put them away and kids went to bed, but Later dh came home and i wanted to show him too, s i checked the rest, one had a blood ring

BUt out of 14 eggs, 10 are Growing!!!! YAY!!!!! two died, and one is i guess not developing/fertile, and who knows sstilla bout the other 1. isnt that like super good for shipped eggs??? still 2 more weeks ugh! its killing me! but dang sure makes my time go faster! lol. i just wish i could tell the kids that Im pregnant too, then this would be even more relavent to them... oh well, guess i ll just have to get More Eggs later on,

i am SO glad i risked hubbys rath to do this! so i promise, i will Hide the flashlight in dh's car so i can NOT candle again for at least a week! (he works nights)

That is good for shipped eggs! When are you going to tell the kids you are pregnant? I think it would be great to compare the development of the chicks to the developing baby and how it just takes a lot longer.

Did your DH think it was cool to see the developing chicks?

actually he thinks i'm nuts and he thought it was gross to see in the egg. lol then he asked me all kinds of Q's about eggs, like since we have a roo will our eggs have babies in them?

(that was the look on his face when asking) i have to wait like forever still to tell the kids, seriously the eggs will be hatched by then.

Hows everybodies incubations going? I candled again tonight since some of mine are due on the 6th (I think- calendar is in the car) I have the same 31 developing for sure and I think one of my EE eggs.

Yikes - what am I going to do with 31 chicks

I guess I'd better not count my chickens before they hatch...
