They are from my LB, RIR and EE crossed with my PR rooster. This is my first hatching ever and I'm doing it in an incubator I made out of a styrofoam cooler.

Welcome! I'm thinking I might get some quail eggs to hatch, just gotta find em cheap so hubby's head doesn't explode (I've already spent like $85 on eggs this month, LOL) Ewww, that kinda makes me sick to actually add it up

Maaaan! Yesterday my 4-year-old let the broody out, then CLOSED THE COOP DOOR. *cusses loudly into a pillow in the garage, because that helps* So the hen was off the nest for a good long time, probably at least 8 hours. They were cold when I finally went out and saw what had happened. It's warm here in Texas, I don't think it got down below 70. I have no idea if they will still be alive. Poor chicks! I'm going to go throw myself a pity party with some ice cream.

So did you all miss me? I was off for a whole 2 days while I had the worst flu of my life!!! Anyway I'm back and happy to report 10 out of 13 BLRW eggs are growing strong, and 3 goose eggs still going strong. How's everybody elses hatch going?

we are expecting on May 12th. I had 2 clear and 6 were duds (bad eggs). I have one lonely BO egg left. Thats okay because my additions to the flock this year are coming in one at a time. One bantam Nankin from over here, one I wish I knew bantam over there. Soooo if this little tike lives, it will be in good company. Candled day 7 and still going strong.

I thought I lost 3 trays with 72 turkey eggs each. We left about noon to go to the airport to pick my daughter up to take her to KS to be with her adopted sister because her husband had just dead. Got home at 8 PM and had no power. The bator was still at 80 degrees. Loaded the eggs in a huge ice chest with covers, load bator and headed to my son place hooked it up got it up to 100 and reloaded. Spent until 1 AM making sure the temper was right. Husband kept saying, waste of your time, you lost them all. At one point I turned a yell ( YES YELLed) if that all you can say shut up and don't say another word to me. You are not God and I am trying even if I only hatch one darm turkey. Will that was Tuesday and as of this morning ( Sat), Can I have dumm roll please

: 43 little turkeys running around. Each tray is set a week a part. Someone said the middle tray or the last tray will probably not make it. I candled the middle tray yesterday and four questionable and one a no go. 43 better then nothing. I got give GQF a thumbs up for holding the heat.
