i got those 2 out of shipped eggs from a guy on here who had AAs and EEs running together, so i guess they could be either one (since a cross of the two would be an ee too). i don't know anything about how colors of AAs or EEs (or anything else, these are my first babies!) look on chicks so i can't say.

there's pure black javas, javaXbrown leghorn, java X GLW, javaXEE in there too.

hope i can tell them apart when they get bigger!

Out of the 9 of mine that made it to lockdown, 4 hatched and 1 would have, but it got membrane stuck over it's beak, and my the time I found it in the morning it had it's little beak all the way out of the pip to get air, but that just made the membrane dry and suffocate the little baby

. And I'm hoping I have 3 hens and a Roo, because that it exactly what I am planning on keeping.

Well guys, no speckled sussex for me. :-( Not a one hatched. The Australorp is still sitting on them, but I'm going to take them out from under her tomorrow. Poor girl, she tried so hard! I think those several hours she was off of them (thanks, son, for closing the coop behind her) did them in. So sad ... I tried to find her some chicks to stick under her at night, but heck if I can find chicks within a freakin' half-hour drive here in Arlington. Oh well ...

I'll send good thoughts your way for 3 pullets and 1 roo! If things go well with my next hatch I'll have BLRW chicks coming out my ears
