I have someone buying some eggs from me tomorrow, then I should have 10 duck eggs by Saturday to put in the incubator that I bought today!

We would be happy with a few ducks this first time so I think setting 10 eggs should be good. Is anyone else setting eggs this weekend? It would be fun to have a hatching buddy my first time. I'm so excited!!!!

I got a still air incubator, I'm debating on getting the fan but I think we will try it without and see how it goes. I figured I would set up the incubator 24-48 hours ahead of time to fine tune the temp and make sure it works well. And since we're not setting a lot of eggs I didn't get a turner, but I'm sure I will get one eventually. I got a digital thermometer/humidity monitor. Is there anything else I need? Did I mention that I am soooo excited?! lol

hi,
i am a newbie too. i'm setting mine this thursday the 17th. i will have about 3 dozen eggs. 13 bsl 4 ee 5 bcm and 12 marans crosses. i got my incubator going last friday and it has been at the right temp and humidity since last night. using a hovabator 1620?? i think that is the model. i'm not looking at it now. it is a still air w/ no turner. i'm going to use egg cartons with the bottoms cut out and i have 2 therms and a hygrometer. some of the eggs are shipped and some are local. here's hoping for a good hatch for both of us.
