Setting silkie eggs today~!

I got 15 silkie eggs in white, buff and partridge. These came from an egg swap. Can't wait to see what I hatch.

Setting them today so I'll be due around July 31. Anyone want to hatch with me?

I also have standard cochin eggs under hens due around the same time. These are from my own birds. Come on little chickies.

Hi!!! I am going to get my eggs from the Post Office today, and putting them in tonight!!!! I am so excited. This will be my second time trying the incubator... the first time didn't go so well. (Temp got way too high a couple of times) Now we have it working right, so I hope and pray my little babies will hatch!!!

Hey Marsha!

Can't wait to see pics of the babies. Hope you get lots of buffs! Your little quail girls are doing wonderful. I am really getting partial to the red color.

Oh - Are you going to the swap in Ocala on the 18th? I want to go, just gotta convince hubby that I NEED to! Heehee. ******Actually I DO need to because I have 6 or 7 Showgirl chicks and 7 silkie chicks that need to find new homes. CHEAP!

Can I be your hatching buddy too? I'm setting 9 b/b/s silkie eggs today under a broody bantam cochin. Mine came yesterday from cjexotic all the way in Pennsylvania, so I've really got my fingers crossed that they do OK. They only took two days in the mail, but I'm afraid they didn't have the best of handling. 5 have detached air cells, and I'm worried about those, but hoping for the best.

Candled and had to toss 5 eggs. They were all scrambled. Still that leaves me 10 good ones so far.

I did set 3 of my bantam cochin eggs with the silkies, and two of them are developing. The third I took out of the refrigerator to experiment, and it's showing clear.

Day 18 I'm down to 6 eggs. None of the white eggs were any good. The one with the crack that I sealed with wax is still hanging in there. So the 6 went into the hatcher today.

I've still got two cochin eggs that appear to be doing well. Crossing my fingers for a splash pullet.
