Well the Heat Lamp experiment eggs failed today, but I think I've got the kinks worked out in the Wally Bator now, so I'm gonna try setting another batch, this time the right way from the beginning. Anyone else setting today and wanna sit on their hands with me for 21 days! lol

Hey Red!!! ok, I'll sit with you...I set today...the madness begins...

Wooooo hoooo we r all set to go. Put mine in this morning. I wanted to stay in with everyone. Good lick all!

Okay another question.....when do you candle them or do you just let them alone til hatch day?

Well, honestly I'm a noob at hatching this is my second batch but hopefully first hatch. The last batch was lost to my stupidity I'm sure (tried incubating with a heat lamp) BUT from everything I've read I believe it's either supposed to be day 5 or 7, but you can find loads of info on incubation in the incubation and hatching section. That's how I've figured out how to do most of what I need to do.
Edited to add - Different people do it differently, with the last batch I waited till day 7 and tossed the clears as the rest (4 out of 6) had lots of nice veining. 3 out of the 4 made it till last night, but I think the transition between heat lamp and wally bator might have caused their demise, either that or they were just quitters because they're still technically pullet eggs. so idk

You can at 10days but best to not open the bator until 18days when u remove turner. Some do at 10 and its ok. 20mins out of bator won't hurt them too much.
