Setting tomorrow... have questions

Or back and forth, doesn't really matter. Turning helps keep the yolk from sticking to the egg. Three times a day if possible. Use a thick book - phone book, Pride and Prejudice, etc.

I used egg cartons the first 18 days and then muffin tin liners. Egg cartons were great, muffin tin liners pretty much useless, IMO. They could still kick them around, which I didn't like. The next time I am going to use drawer dividers, cut down so that aren't very tall. The dividers like you would use in a sock drawer.

Because of my work schedule I only turned 2x a day M-F and 5 times on weekends. I just tipped the cartons from one side to the other. The eggs were probably at about a 45 degree angle. Here is a picture of the cartons in my homemade incubator. Since they were fastened to a piece of PVC I could move them from side to side without opening the incubator, I just turned the pipes.
