Settling or resting shipped eggs

I have two questions... How long do I need to let shipped eggs rest or settle? I have read different things--from 6 hours to 48 hours. Also, I read that during the first 24 hours of incubation not to have the automatic egg turner going. Wait until after the first 24 hours of incubation. Should I try this? Thanks in advance!!!

Hmmm. Hmmmmm. I had not heard any of those, except for the "overnight" or 24 hours of rest for shipped eggs. I will be following this thread, even though I've had 3 successful hatches so far NOT knowing about that "don't turn them the first day" thing.

Anything that will improve my hatch rates is appreciated!

P.S. When my page doesn't load, I do a "preview" instead of "submit" the second time... and have discovered it DID post okay. Then I can abandon the "preview" altogether.
