I got my first baby Narragansett turkey about 5 weeks ago. It was 2 weeks old when I got it. So I put it in with some new baby salmon faverolles and watched it closely. They did great! Snuggled together to sleep, absolutely did great. Well it is 7 weeks now and the chicks are 5 weeks and I was thinking about separating them because the turkey is so much bigger. Well today when I went out to the pen I found an almost dead baby faverolle roo. He had his throat tore open and I don't know if his neck was broken but that is how he acted. So we had to put him out of his misery. I put the turkey in a pen by itself immediately. I have been over the pen with a fine toothed comb. There is nothing in there that could have injured this chick like this except the turkey. Anyone ever had anything like this happen??
