I've been researching for hours and cannot find the answer for this. I have a flock of 20, various ages from 8mos - 6 years old.

Now I have 4 hens and a rooster quarantined because they suddenly started with:

- wheezing/gurgling when walking or exerting themselves.
- sneezing and scratching head as if to clear the clogging
- The 2 oldest have runny fluid from the nose and really labored breathing. They will breath with their mouth open sometimes.
- They occasionally gasp for air.
- At rest, their whole body moves with their breathing
- I've noticed when the go to eat sometimes, a clear fluid pours from their mouth.
- No odors from any secretion
s.

I started treating conservatively with:
- garlic in their water,
- supplementing a little yogurt and unsweetened applesauce.
- Spraying VetRx in their room
- Spraying Oxine AH in their room
- But tonight, I gave in and gave the 2 oldest girls a shot of LA-200
.

If it is CRD, ILT or Infective bronchitis, I know antibiotics may not do a thing, but I'm lost as to what treatment I should do to get them thru this distressed period. Culling my entire flock is not an option for me. They've all been exposed to each other.

tylan 50 1.5 ml per chicken per day for three days thats the best advice i can give ya it worked for my chickens

Will check into the Tylan. I do plan to treat everyone, just in case. If anyone has any other natural or supplemental suggestions, that'll help too. I'm so worried about the 2 older girls. The one girls comb and waddles are dark, like she's not getting enough oxygen. :( I will cull her if she is suffering. Right now, I'm keeping her quiet and hoping to get her over this hump.

dont even worry with the natural holistic stuff your past that you need real medicine before you lose your flock the tylan injectable is for cows and horses but it works wonders on chickens and theres only a 7day withdrawl period for eating the eggs

CRD or mycoplasma gallisepticum can be treated with Tylan and other antibiotics. It won't cure it, just help with symptoms. You do sound like your chickens may have one or more diseases, but ILT sounds like it. ILT usually has bloody mucus from the beak. You really need to get a chicken tested, and necropsy on a culled bird would be best. Personally if I suspected ILT or had multiple birds sick , I would cull them. But at least close your flock, and don't sell chickens or hatching eggs.
