I have a 3 year old orpington rooster. He started with bumblefoot, i cleaned it out and treated it ( it was not my first case of bumblefoot. We had a high perch and when they would land it would the birds would occasionally get slivers from the woodchips. Anyhow the high roost has been removed for almost a year. chamion had the bumblefoot? Come back except worse. His foot was extremely swollen. About 4 months ago, we lanced it and got tons of pus and chunks out. The swelling never went down, it was his joint. Recently his foot has been bothering him again. I was going to lance it yesterday. But didnt. Today there was a giant hard black bulge coming out of his foot. So i gently puled it and a huge chunk of black and yellow, hard infection came out. I put some gydrogen peroxide in it and squeezed. I saw a little string of black intfectIon. I used a pair of pliers to pull it out. Little did i know another huge chunk would comeout. Anyways right now he has a gaping hole in this foot, keeping in mind i never lanced it. I just pulled on the bulge that appeared outside his foot. If i can get pictures to post, i will post some of the chunks and the hole that they left. I packed the hole and wrapped his foot. He can no longer band his toes on that foot so im assuming the infection has made its way there as well. Any ideas on what to do?

All my birds are, health, well taken care of and have a clean safe place to live. But champion is my baby and i want him to get better

Wow, that is impressive, he has to feel better now. It's likely from the original infection. Did you put any antibiotic cream or Vetericyn in the wound? I think watchful waiting and keeping the wound clean and dressed is the best thing to do over the next couple days. Make sure he uses the leg, moves around, eats and drinks. If you notice anything off, you may need to treat with antibiotic meds.
