Severe prolapse -please help (guinea hen)

My young guinea hen (3-4 months) has an extreme prolapse. I massaged it with oil and tucked it back in last night but she strains and pushes it back out right away.

I stuck my finger in to feel for an egg and can't feel anything but I don't know how far in it would be. She has never laid an egg to this point.

What can I do? It's really terrible. She is otherwise strong and alert.

This is not a fun thing to try to "fix".
You gotta KEEP putting in back in until it stays.

Honey, sugar, or Preparation H cream can be applied to the prolapse tissue to help reduce osmotic pressure and swelling. Try holding it in for a bit while holding her.
