Severe weather watch for NC & VA

My part of NC (Johnston County) is under a Tornado Watch until 7:00 tonight. The last time we were under a tornado watch a few weeks back 2 people were killed.
One of our local tv stations is saying that 80 NC counties and 2 VA counties are under advisories, watches, or warnings.

I am so glad we have earthquakes instead of tornados.

Tornadoes aren't that common here, our bigger severe weather threat is the dreaded hurricane. At least hurricanes are seasonal, and there is time to plan on getting out of the area.

I've lived in California, Oklahoma and now North Carolina. I've been through earthquakes, floods and tornadoes. Haven't been through a hurricane, though. (Knock wood) Everywhere has some sort of natural "disaster". I'm just glad the flash flood warnings we had today didn't turn out to be a problem.
