severely swollen crop

One of my hens is just laying down in the corner. She will let me pick her up with no protest. Didn't feel an egg inside, BUT found her crop to be severely swollen. It is huge like a water balloon, It's soft and movable.
The others have regular sized ones I guess, and can feel grain or food inside them. She is laying with her tail feathers turned down.

These hens are about 7 months old and have just begun laying. Shes inside the coop just sitting on the floor now and the other girls come over to check her and make little clucks.

I've already taken 1 dog to the vet 3 times in a week and can't afford another trip! What can I do?

Separate her in a dim, quiet, warm place. Withhold all food and gve only water with raw organic apple cider vinegar and gentley massage the crop without pushing upwards for the next 12 hours and see if the crop goes down. Make sure there is no bedding she can eat while in isolation.

should i bring her inside away from the other hens? would that cause more stress? or do I isolate her in the coop? It is pretty warm, 45 degrees? While I'm waiting for the answer, i'm bringing her inside in box with cloth bottom. and will begin soft massaging, downward. she seems to like it, seems like it makes her feel better,

sounds like a sour crop...happens in pigeons with cracked corn sometimes...I have been told in the past to rub it out...I know they can't puke but that is why you rub it out...never delt with it but that is what I have heard don't crucify me if it is wrong! I would clarification on it also.

okay, she's in the house in a warm box. When I put her in she just laid down on her side. she seems like she's in pain. I massaged her for about 10 minutes and now just letting her alone. Do
I mix the vinegar with the water? What if she wont drink? What happens if it doesn't go down?

Do not give her any food for the next 8 - 12 hours. Make sure there is no bedding that she can eat. Only give her water with raw organic apple cider vinegar.

If you have to give it by beak with a syringe yourself to get her drink do so, carefully. The ACV helps to kill any bacteria, yeast, fungus or virus nasties from growing in the crop.

Very gently without pushing upward massage her crop once an hour.

At the end of this period begin feeding her bits of bread soaked in olive oil. Make sure she also has lots of water.

For the next 24 hours only the olive oil bread and water.

Once an hour gently massage her crop and see if anything is loosening and trying to move through.

With only bread soaked oil you should start to see some significat poops. Keep her bedding clean and don't use anything for bedding that she might eat.

If the crop has significantly began to empty you can give her some bits of cooked rice and a little yogurt. You can also give some water softened pellets/crumbles made mushy. A small bit of scrambled eggs will help her too with added protein.

For sick birds I mix 1 tbsp per quart.

The ACV will inhibit bacteria, yeast, fungal and viral infection in the crop. Witholding everything but water gives things a chance to soften and begin moving through.

You may have to help her drink by using a syringe and gently putting drops of water along her beak until she opens her mouth to swallow. Becareful and don't gush the full syringe down her throat she could drown.
