I have 4 plymouth rock pullets, almost 7 months old. Have just had first egg laid this week. One of them was a little quieter this week and I found bloody poop in the coop. I had a poop sample tested at the vets and it came back positive for Coccidiosis so I have started them on treatment.
When I weighed them this morning 3 of them are 1.7kg and the quiet one is only 500g.
Could there be another underlying condition to cause her to be so underweight or if she has had cocci for a long time would this be the cause. She is eating, drinking and apart from being a little quiet and underweight she has seemed normal. Thanks for your help.

Having Coccidiosis can cause her to not take in proper nutrition from the feed, which in turns causes her to loose weight.
The best thing for her is chick feed right now.

Some chickens can have problems with immunity to common diseases. Some strains of coccidia can be chronic, so she could have had it for a while, and that could have caused poor weight gain. Hopefully, with Corid and some probiotics following treatment, she will start putting on some weight. Give her a few higher protein treats when she is doing well.

Athena had chronic coccidiosis, but with meds she finally pulled thru. She is still the "lightest" of the bunch, but still #1 hen.

This is her!

Thanks everyone for your comments. She is still eating and drinking well and generally seems good. As a new chicken Mum, I panicked and thought if they got cocci there was no hope.
