Sevin Dust Use

I was curious as to where the not eating eggs for 3, 5, 7 or two weeks came from. Was it because thats what it said for a cucumber or something? If so, cucumbers dont have internal organs last time I checked. Would be interesting if someone checked the liver or gizzards of these birds to see what had been filtered through their systems! Just a thought.
