I just bathed these *auction* hens in Sevin dust because they are COVERED in parasites. I didnt know what was wrong with them, gave them a bath and thought they had poop stuck to their butts. . . Nope- That stuff not coming off was lice eggs. . .I am sure they have everything.... poor things.

Anyway- what should I do next? After they are dusted, do I need to wait a few days and give them a warm bath again, or just let them pluck the dead bugs off themselves? They have dirt to dust in and they are getting spoiled. Just didnt know if I need to go back in and pick stuff off.

Thank ya, thank ya!

Im learning everything the most difficult way!! Speed learning I guess!

Good luck with your new birds! Permethrin dust works as well as carbaryl, and it is approved for poultry. I would switch to that next time (in ten days or so). There are very limited approved products for intestinal parasites, so I use an unapproved product that still works for me here; Ivermectin. It kills most intestinal parasites, and lice and mites. Easy! I wouldn't bathe them again, rather treat without the whole bath adventure. Mary
