About two weeks ago I got four little babies at my local feed store. Within the time that I’ve had them, they’ve developed combs and began to exhibit some rooish behavior, which scares me greatly since we can only keep one rooster.
The babies fly and run at each other on occasion, and they stand rather tall.
On one occasion, my chihuahua decided to pay them a visit, and my little bantam leapt at her. I am almost sure this is roo behavior, but I don’t want to get rid of a future egg layer if they happen to be a very aggressive girl.
Below are some images of my chicks body, head, and wings. I’d really appreciate it if someone could figure out the breeds and genders of these little ones... it’d be a shame to have them all turn out to be roo’s.
Chick 1- Hazel
Chick 2- Almond (bantam)
Chick 3- Macademia
Chick 4- Cashew
(They had just finished a dirt bath
