Sex and Breed??

I'm hoping our crossbeak baby is old enough to tell a little more about now....she is almost 15 weeks. As far as breed, she came from Tractor Supply and I'm pretty sure she was in the Buff Orpington box (the associate grabbed her for me and I didn't double check the label on the box) but she doesn't really look like one to me? She has some odd markings on her back feathers as seen in the photos. Hopefully someone has a better idea than I do!

Production Red, but very, very poorly bred. The lack of tail can sometimes be attributed to a random recessive gene mutation, as can the crossbeak.

agree and cross beaks tend to get worse as the bird matures
