I got this chick from someone locally. Bantam Cochin. She had a trio; a partridge roo, a buff hen and a mille fluer hen. This chick has to be out of the mille fluer, right? What colour will this chick be? I was told the hatch date was April 22. This is my first time having bantams, or cochins. I am hoping this chick will be a hen but I am thinking roo. Middle photo came out really orange for some reason.

Gorgeous! I absolutely love the coloring!! I really hate that I lost my little bantam partridge cochin chick this year myself. I will say at that age her comb was still much smaller than your baby's.

I thought it looked like it was getting a bit to large for a she. Shucks.

Partridge x Buff mix. It'll look pretty much like this when grown. Penceled wing, back, and tail. Buff chest. May get some penceling in the chest as it gets older.

Thank you. Now I just hope it is a hen.

I do have two buff bantam cochins too. They are much less feathered and combs are bigger, so far. They aren't more than a week apart in age. So I have been crossing my fingers that this one is a pullet.
