Sex and is it pure lavender Orpington?

This little one is almost 8 weeks old. His comb and wattles have been the same size and colour since 4 weeks. His hatch mates (various mixed breeds) are easily identifiable as male or female now.

These are the best pictures I can get, lol! It's been so wet out, he does have a bit of dry mud on him.

I'm also trying to figure out if he is pure lavender Orpington or not. The person I got the eggs from had a trio who were just starting to breed so it's totally possible, I'm not sure how to tell.

I am hoping for a boy...
 
Too blue for me to think of it as pure Lav... but that could be shading in the pic.

Gotta look at shank color, beak and eye color, body shape, comb type, and so on. Orpington can be a tad slower to develop than others. And since gender shaped feathers aren't coming in yet... I'm not positive on gender... Not currently screaming cockerel, but I would wait for later development to confirm.

If it’s blue, could be a blue maran or I have a true whitings that looks like that at 12 weeks but mine has a bit more of a tail.
