At 21 weeks that's a pullet.


Is she a silver laced Orpington?

Yes! Our rooster got attacked but we had some eggs. If this is a pullet we have 3 and still no roo! LOL!

Well, I"m kind of proud of myself! I was looking at her, trying to figure out the breed....is that a slw crossed with an Orp, but then the lacing is too good for a F1 cross....then I remembered Orps do come in silver laced, but they're pretty darn rare. She's beautiful! It's nice to see one of the more unusual colors, where the body shape still looks like the actual breed

Isn't that that thing with hard to find breeds? If I hatch mixed breeds, or sex links or whatever, I can hatch a million cockerels. Trying to get new breeding stock for my Marans....not so much. And you can't always just put a wanted ad on CL to find the right bird like with the common varieties.
