Sex-link and patterning White Leghorns.

Do the hens have black skin, or just dark shanks? I recall my hybrids with a silkie roo looked pretty normal, at least their skin, I didn't look at their shanks. Of does it only work if the hen is dominant white?
Their entire skin is black, and it works on any hens that have yellow shanks, IF the hens have dark/slate/willow shanks like EEs, Ameraucanas than ALL of the chicks will have black skin, males and females

I have birds I'm pretty sure were from a silkie roo and they don't have dark skin, I'm sure I would have noticed that. Maybe the silkie roo being barred (cuckoo) suppressed that. The cuckoo silkies have much lighter skin. Maybe barring present in the roo must also be excluded to make this work?
