Sex-link, Red or Black??

I want to add some good brown egg layers to my flock. I've heard that sex-link chickens are great and start to lay at a early age. Which one is better, the red or the black?

I'm pretty new to this and I don't have any experience with the Red SLs, but I have 2 Black SLs and they were my 1st layers (around 19 1/2 weeks) and have continued to lay well through what has been a pretty cold winter here. Mine also have great personalities, very friendly and easily handled. I'm sure there are some folks that have had both that can give you more info. Good Luck!

My Reds are laying machines. They started laying small eggs (not pullet eggs) at 16weeks. They are now up to Large to XL eggs even though the winter. My girls are 2 years old and still lay on a daily basis.

My Blacks started laying at 20weeks and layed all though winters as well. They stopped laying at 3 years.
