Sex- linked Information

I hatched some chicks on 4/10 under a surrogate broody momma who was just begging to set! Lol! Roo was my Golden Laced Wyandotte and hens were either Golden Laced Wyandotte or Barred Rock. I understand that I can get GLW chicks, but what else? I've read about Wybars, but I'm getting confused since I've also read these could be Black Sex Links! What could they be??

The GLW X BR chicks will be Black Sex Links. Any chick which has a white spot on its head is a cockerel. Pullets will vary but I'd expect them to have a very dark, muddled, probably mostly black GLW chick down pattern.

Well, to me it looks like a mix of chicks. Looks like you have some chipmunky looking chicks and some barred rock looking chicks. The chipmunky looking ones are probably pure GLW and the rock looking ones are likely black sex links. To make that it's a barred hen with nearly any roo so they probably are black sex links. OR. They could all be Wybars. But it seems like that the breeders do really selective breeding and even cull black chicks etc so I'd just say they're Wyandottes or black sex links

If the ones that aren't GLW are Black Sex Links, how would I go about breeding for Wybars? I know they're basically extinct in the US in regards to large fowl, but there are those that are trying to bring them back. I know I won't get show quality Wybars my first go round, but I think they are such a beautiful breed, and I'd like to have some for my personal flock. Wybars, from what I've read, are an auto-sexing breed. I've read that you get Wybars from crossing a GLW or SLW roo over Barred Rock hen...so how do I get from BSL to Wybar??

I Googled "Wybar chicken" earlier and I found this BYC thread. Not sure if you have seen it yet but even right at the beginning they talk about what they breed for and stuff and it is not a very long thread, might be worth it to read through it as well as the other thread linked in there. May help you out. :)
