THANKS! Wish I can find more on vent sexing... I would like to see some pics or diagram, or a good explanation on what is a boy as aposed to what is a girl inside the vent, and all the different shapes that are inside boys and inside shapes that are girls? I know there are several but even if someone can show me a couple it would be nice to see the difference between boys and girls... I was going to try it on my next hatch to see if it is even possible. I'm going to seperate the different vents and see what I come up with. Has anyone had experiance with doing this?

Stromberg's has a book on vent sexing, the name of the book is Sexing all fowl, baby chicks, game birds, and cage birds by Loyl Stromberg. It only cost $8.95 and I found it very informative.
great info. I crossed my RIR roo with my Black Aust. hens and of the 10 that hatched, three had white dots and the other seven were black headed. Beautiful chicks too.
Question on gold x silver.
If you cross a gold hen to a silver rooster say= golden lakenvelder hen x silver spangled hamburg rooster.
The chicks will be or would be sex link. Is this right?
Roosters= gold
Hens= silver
It should work, shouldn't it, to cross a nice RIR roo with a Silver Laced Wyandotte hen? And then the chicks would be reddish if female and white if male.
Right?
I was thinking of doing one of my really beautiful Heritage RIR Roos with this cross.
Thank you! I had been using my Black Penedesenca roo over all my hens and have just managed to figure out that all the barred offspring are males. I really should have read this earlier!
