Yes, white leghorns are dominant white so you would get white birds with buff leakage, however, some white leghorn strains have the silver gene aded, in that case you would get sexlinks.

The answer is NO. White leghorns will not work in any kind of color sex linked cross. Please read the introduction to this thread on page one.

Much to my surprise....one of my four Silver Laced Wyandottes has gone broody. They hatched in Feb. 2010 and of my mixed bag of 18 hens, she is the only one to even come close. I think she is on 6 or 7 eggs. Some hers, some not. she is keeping them very warm. My guess is she either had a Barred Rock or a Auburn Java over her and all of the eggs. Most of the other hens are SLW, PBR, Black Sex-L or Gold (Red) Sex-L. Any hopes for a great mix or a sex-linked chick?

Oooo.... This is REALLY excitng stuff!

I was planning to get either GLW ro SLW in the spring... But, I am now thinking that I will get some of each and then later on cros them and get sexlinks! This is correct right? Assuming I get a GLW rooster and some SLW hens?

If by the slim chance they were masking Columbian or Silver Duckwing, they should work the same as RIWs do right ? But like we said, the ones that are masking extended black or birchen wont work .

Where are you planning on getting your Wyandottes from ? Dont get them from Privett what ever you do, I ordered SLWs, BOs, and RIWs from Privett and the SLWs were like 9 months old and still hadnt started laying so I sold them. Not to mention the snotty people who work at Privett.
