Yup, he could be bred to ether silver(columbian, partridge, duckwing, ect.) or barred hens and make sexlinks.

Okay back to the breeds list

my roo is of good size so if I am adding hens to his group and eventually try my hand at feather sexing I wanted to add hens of good size just to even it up a bit. My purebred Brabanter hens are small in stature.

In my hunt to find a similar looking bird to my Brabanter hens for my Brabanter rooster to try and breed a feather sex linked chicks does anyone know if the Egyptian Fayoumi is considered a silver that would cross correctly with my roo?

No, egyptian fayoumi are fayoumi birchen at the E locus and the brabanter are birchen at the E locus. They both are genetically wrong for making red sex linked birds. The male will work to make a black sex linked when crossed with barred rock hens or another black and barred hen.

The brabanter will work in as the father is a feather sexing cross- you must use a female that is slow feathering.

thanks for the confirmation. I read on page one the graph and it was noting some breeds of hens known to be the slow feathering but they do come in many colors. Does the color of the hen matter if the breed is slow to feather when crossed with the fast feather rooster regardless?

So Fayoumis are fayoumi birchen with pattern gene and dark brown, right? Does fayoumi birchen interact with the other E-alles the same as birchen?
