Sex Linked Traits

I did a Brown Red Game Cock x Rhode Island Red hen. All the pullets have feather coloring just like a Brown Red hen. Even have the mulberry colored skin on their faces and totally black shanks. All the cockerals have RIR feather coloring with red colored skin on their faces and yellow shanks. Also, the pullets have a single comb and the cockerals have twisted pea combs. Can anyone explain this?

Comb wise, pea is dominant to straight, so to get straight and pea combs, the pea must be an incomplete in the parents. It is hard genetically when you add in a gamefowl since so many different things went into the makeup of the various families and strains that there is always a possibility of some crazy throwback, especially when crossing breeds. A male at 9 weeks. Looks like the Columbian Restrictor kept the black feathering off the breast. He has the carriage and long tail of the American Game.

Here is a female at 9 weeks. She has the shape, carriage, and tail of a game chicken also.

Yep, we have had some RIR cross American Game roos look just like that, was a BBred game hen.
