Rhode Island Red, approx 8-9 weeks? (purchased 5/18) Tail feathers resemble the known female australorp tails, I don't see signs of saddle feathers. The neck feathers appear to be spoon like to me. Comb and waddles bigger, but this is the only red I own so I can't compare. :/ This is also the flock alpha.

Black Australorp straight run, appx. 6-7 weeks. (purchased much later, actual hatch date unknown. This one was from the last batch available for purchase for the year.) Comb seems to be much redder than the other chick of same age... The Rhode Island Red will attack this one without blinking twice if the baby pen is breeched. It wants to be "ninja chicken" and is always breast bump fighting the other baby.

Those birds are both cockerels, sorry.

If you look, the RIR is already getting his green rooster tail.

For the future, a chick with comb and wattles that large and that red at only 6 weeks is male. Even my white Leghorn hens, who have combs so big they flop forward over their eyes, don't get a red comb and wattles like that until 16 weeks.

Definitely males I would say. Seems to be a lot of them about these days
