Sexed my 3 week olds

Looks like I have 9 boys and 13 girls in my first batch. Going to finish their pen this weekend and get them ready for the big move outside.

Yeah that's the plan if I can do the deed. I'm working my self up to it. I've had to cull a few chicks here lately and I didn't think I could do that.

Very cute! One's hiding and the other is posing, lol.
And, it's not that bad, bonk them on the head though, it makes it easier on the quail and on you. You don't have to look them in the face when you do it, then when you have to do the real deed, they're stunned, and again, you don't have to look them in the eye.
