How quick do they crow?

It depends on how much light they're getting. During late spring/summer, they can start crowing as early as 4 weeks, but during the winter, they might not crow at all.

The youngest I've had crow was before it even left the incubator...

Yess, I have 3 hens and 4 cocks. Not too bad, I'll probably keep 1 of the cocks and sell the other 3 and buy more hens.

Glad you got a decent ratio, I never get 50/50. I thought this batch of 12 was finally 6 boys and six girls, kept 1 male and ate 5 and thought we were done, then one hen started crowing and another rooster was going nuts over something, which I’m guessing is another new hen in his pen which is probably no such thing. Yeah we’re 8/4! Stick with those Italians you can feather sex, much more reliable!

I got half the quail coop done, I'm still not finished the other side but the boys will go that side, I'm putting another door over the chick wire, to close in the night. Is the quail in the 3rd picture a boy or a girl? He used to look like the other boys, but I'm not sure what he is now.
