I have two 4-wk old Polish chicks, would welcome any opinions on what sex they are? I've been scouring the internet for tips and hints on what to look for and I am at a loss. This is,the first time I have had this breed.

Nothing is jumping out as male to me but it's still early days. Give it a few more weeks. Could you repost pics then?

I'm afraid they are notoriously hard to sex :barnie

I have polish hens, and have had hens and roos in the past. Like mentioned before, they are extremely diffucult to sex and can take a couple months to be certain. By 3 months, you should know for sure. The roos will have grown their waddles some, which should be bright red, while pullets will not have any red on their heads until they're about ready to start laying (anywhere between 6 and 12 months). Also, the roos will develop a “head dress” of sorts that falls back, instead of the “afro” look the pullets get. Plus, their tail feathers will grow longer and flow back, while the pullets will keep shorter, straight up, tails.

Hope this helps :)

Oh yes! The blue one is a lovely hen and the black one is a fabulous rooster! I'm thrilled that I ended up with a pair! Will upload pics. Thank you for asking :-D
