I know it's pretty early for this breed, but here is my story:
I am an apartment manager for a non-profit low-income senior housing complex. I was given board approval to have a few emotional support chickens for my residents and I chose Cochins as I've had them previously years ago and really loved their quiet docile personalities. I picked up our 4 little babies as day old chicks on March 23rd. I chose one of each breed color to be easier for my residents to tell apart. They just turned 5 weeks old this week. The Buff I noticed its comb grow dramatically faster in the past week and then a few days ago started pinking up. My partridge although the smallest like to do the tall stance and also began pinking at the base of the comb. The shocker is my Blue today is showing signs of waddles and darkening feathers around the neck. I (and my residents) will be devastated if 3 out 4 are males. However if that is the case I would like to get at least one more day old chick soon to start again.
We are inside the city limits and won't be able to keep any Roos.
