Heya folks! Are we right in thinking we've got a cockerel on our hands?
This is Pepys, who is very flighty still at 6.5 weeks old - a single chick, so unfortunately no comparisons available. He's also not a pure breed, so we're not absolutely certain. Pictures of the parents included below - the mother, Miss Ives, is definitely a mottled Pekin bantam, but Blackwell's ancestry is unknown. We reckon he's probably got at least some Pekin in there too, if only because he's so tiny, but interested in any dissenting opinions.
What do you reckon - pullet or cockerel? I suspect cockerel, as he's a fair bit pinker than Miss Ives was at that age, but on the other hand he's probably not 100% Pekin, so...
