Well, my canner malfunctioned. Took the tomatoes out and we're taking it apart to see why it didn't hold the pressure. Maybe didn't clean the seal last time?? I don't know. I'm not the one who cleans up these messes I make. DH is looking at it now.

Needless to say, we have cancelled our plans for tomorrow and will stay here to re-can these tomatoes. At this point I will turn them into sauce and add all the rest of the tomatoes that are ripe. Might as well get 'er done.

We don't go through all this planting, nurturing and harvesting to lose all those good tomatoes!!!

On a brighter note, we tried some of the marinara I canned tonight for dinner and it turned out fabulous!

Good morning state I have stayed old school mostly.

I'm liking the rain, not so much the cooler weather. Where did summer go? Poured a bucket of pellets into the feeder and dumped some crushed eggshells into the oyster shell box. Took care of the waterer yesterday.

not a huge one.
Second cup with me gave the crew some mash this morning.

IDK, I really love the convenience of the electric canner. No babysitting. But, if it doesn't work then it's even more trouble. Haven't decided yet. We'll see when I get finished making the sauce.

Does the electric canner go through the 10 minute steam/air vent period before it seals up and pressurizes?
