I have 5 week old A&M's, Tibetans and tuxedos in the same pen. There hasn't been any crowing nor egg laying yet. The pen is overcrowded right now until I can sort out my extra males (there are 9 birds in 6 sq feet of space) . I want to do this ASAP! I noticed this afternoon that two of my A&M's have bald spots on the tops of their heads, do you think this means they're female and a male has been trying to mount them, or will a male do that to another male?

I have two tibetans, one with a black beak, one with a brown one, I'm following the hypothesis in Monarc's post and guessing the black beaked one is male... has this been holding true for you all so far?

My A&M roos will indeed mount another roo, but they don't stay long.

My hens do have bald spots where the males don't. Are they old enough to do the squeeze test on?

Yeah, I'm going to do some squeezing tomorrow. I was just hoping that would be two less birds I'd have to squeeze.

My baldest A&M is a male.

I have 2 males and 1 female sharing a pen with 1 female tuxedo and 1 female tibetan. The one male is the only one with bald patches on it's neck and head.

My only baldies are my youngsters that are just starting to feel their "oats' or whatever that saying is. My mature birds the worst they have is some feathers on the back misplaced (on the hens only). Most of my mature hens corroporate with the roos so theres no overzelous feather pulling...but even when a hen corroporoates not always is the roo going to be polite lol.
