Sexing a silkie based on mating behavior?

Our 3 month old bantam Easter Egger Cockerel (been crowing for a month already) mounted and mated our 3 month old white silkie. Not just hoped on top, but grabbed the head and did his little dance on the silkie. Is it safe to assume the silkie is female? I have never seen our young cockerels try to mate another cockerel. Oddly enough, neither of the crowing 3 month old cockerels have shown interest in the for sure 3 month old pullet in the bunch.

I've seen cockerals mate cockerals. 3 months is too young for any mating behaviors to be about real mating. I would separate out the troublemakers, especially since silkies can be prone to head injuries if they get pecked too much.
