how old are they before you can tell if they are hens or roos? is there signs to look for if they are 12/14 weeks old? my first batch. all so cute!

Im shocked no one posted to this one! Please post photos..we should be able to tell immediatly..

Roosters have thin long saddle and hackle feathers and females have short stubby rounded feathers. This is not 100% true for all breeds but most.

Here's a 6 week old Spitzhauben I just purchased yesterday. Does anyone know if she is pure or mixed? And is it accurate to call her a pullet this early? And how are their personalities? I've read mixed reviews.

Cockerals will show red on their wattles first before the pullets would. Roughly around four to eight weeks of age you can tell the difference. Some matured earlier than others.
