Does anybody know of a hatchery that you can order from online that sexes bantams? I have looked all over and all I can find are straight runs. Why is it that big hatcheries like ideal, and mcmurray do not sex their bantams? Thanks

My Pet Chicken will sex bantams, but it is very expensive. It is about $10 a chick I think. I am getting some on April 20 so I can post a message after I get them on how it turned out. I wonder also why the big hatcherys do not sex bantams, maybe someone knows.

If you find bantams at a local feed store, the best way to sex them is to look at the wing feathers. If they are staggered in length, they are more likely to be pullets and if they are all one length they are more likely to be roos. This has worked for me everytime. Also, if you hatch out some of your own banty eggs, the rounder eggs are more likely to produce pullets. Another old timers tip that has worked. Good luck!
