Ooh, is this one male or female?I sex by leg color. It's more accurate with this breed.
Have any leg pictures?

Is this a different chick, or the same one?Ooh, is this one male or female?![]()
This is a different chick. I think (hope) it’s female! Is this a different chick, or the same one?
I'm thinking cockerel based on the lightness of it's legs. This is a different chick. I think (hope) it’s female!
Just to give you a wee update, the six are all doing well and growing nicely. You were spot on, 3 cockerels and 3 pullets, you can tell the cockerels apart pretty easy now with them having more white in their feathers. You're welcome. Update us in about 7-8 weeks to confirm genders?
Crue has definitely started taking on cockerel tail at 11/12 weeks old. He is mixing well with his 9 female friends. There are a couple that get testy with him at times but he does not pick first (yet anyways).I am interested in knowing what people think are the sexes of my Barred Rocks - they are 8 week old in these photos. We think we ended up with a cockerel - we were trying only for hens. But we didn’t know and neither did the store we purchased them at. (We later found a farm that we got more from but should have gotten all of them from the farm)
We are thinking the darker one is pullet and the lighter one is cockerel????? When they were little the lighter one had a much bigger white spot on its head and I named it Cruella. The darker is my lovely Georgia! I am thinking I have a Crue and not Cruella? Are my thoughts correct? If I had known about the way to sex before I purchased I would have stayed away from the bigger white spots.
